Well it has been almost a year since we relaunched the wonderful ‘The Oakwood Coffee Shop’! In that time there have been gallons of tea and coffee enjoyed and mountains of yummy cake consumed. Our Coffee Shop has been enjoyed not only by us as a Church Family but has been a great place for our local community to come and enjoy a warm welcome and safe space. From parents of young children who are looking for a place to connect with their community, to our older folk who are learning to emerge from Lockdown – it has been a joy to welcome each and every one.

This month, we temporarily say goodbye to Sarah who has been our Coffee Shop Assistant manager this year. Sarah is now ready to begin maternity leave and joyfully awaits her new arrival! Join us in praying for Sarah and her husband Paul, as they begin this new exciting chapter of their lives.

When looking for maternity cover for Sarah’s post, we have had the opportunity to adjust the staffing structure and so we have been able to split the vacant position into two shift patterns to equip us for this season. We therefore have two wonderful new employees to introduce to you!

This week we have had the joy of welcoming Rayna and Sharon to our Coffee Shop team. Rayna and Sharon are both part TVC Church family and both play their part by serving into local community. We have loved getting to know them better this week and we are really excited about what God will do through them as they serve Coffee and share the love of Jesus to our customers!

So why not pop in for a cuppa or maybe a Friday Night Pizza? Introduce yourself and encourage them as they take this step of faith and seek to extend God’s Kingdom here in Teesside.
