We are thrilled to be welcoming special guest Becky Murray to speak to us at TVC Church this coming Sunday!
So who is Becky Murray?
Becky Murray is the founder and CEO of One By One, a charity aiming to end exploitation of the vulnerable across the world. She is an author, speaker and even TV presenter! Becky is married to Matthew and they have one son, Josiah, who was born in 2011. The Murrays reside in South Yorkshire, England.
Becky’s life was transformed in 2006 when a young girl she bought a pair of shoes for on the streets of Sierra Leone assumed she wanted sexual favours in return. This horrifying and life-definining statement shocked Becky to the core – she knew she had to dedicate her life to helping children like Felicity. This moment sparked the formation of One By One. Although One By One now reaches tens of thousands of children on a regular basis, the organisation never wants to lose its heart to stop for one life, like Felicity.
Tell me about One by One
One By One is a charity with a heart for the vulnerable across the world. Formed in 2011, One By One’s first project was its residential facility in Kenya which aims to rehouse and give hope to children that otherwise would be living in abject poverty.
More recently, a rescue centre was builtin Pakistan, housing victims of human trafficking. The charity also runs a widows’ programme in North Sri Lanka, working with women whose husbands were killed in the brutal civil war. In addition, The Dignity Project – that provides teenage girls with re-usable sanitary items and education – was formed in 2015, and has now expanded to 8 countries across the world. Nearly 30,000 girls have been reached through the Dignity Project since its launch in the Houses of Parliament.
In addition to all of this practical work, One By One have a passion for change through policy at a governmental level. In recent years, Becky has represented One By One at 10 Downing Street and the Houses of Parliament in London and the White House in Washington DC.

What is the Churches against trafficking tour?
Churches of various streams and denominations are joining forces with politicians, sportspeople and artists in response to the world’s human trafficking plight. The tour will see Becky Murray and the One By One team visit churches throughout the UK in 2023.
We are so glad to be able to host the Churches against Trafficking tour this Sunday!
Highlights of the Churches Against Trafficking tour will be condensed into a one-hour programme which will air on TBN UK on October 18 at 8pm and so we will have a small camera crew present at our Sunday service this week.
Will I be on TV?
The camera crew will be taking footage of the whole of the Sunday service, including more ‘behind the scenes’ footage, so they will want shots of the congregation. If you do not wish to be on camera – that is totally fine. We have designated a ‘no film zone’ at the back of the auditorium for those who do not wish to be on camera. Just ask one of the stewards if you need directions to this zone. The cameras will not be going into children’s groups.
So Sunday 17th September at 10.30am?
Yes that’s right! We’ll look forward to seeing you there! If you’d like further info about the service, you can find it here.
Becky will of course be bringing information about One By One so please stop and say hi. She will also be bringing some bracelets that have been made by girls who attend her projects, which you can buy – so please come prepared with coins, notes or cards and of course the money raised will go straight back into the projects.
