As you know, we have some fantastic projects making a real difference in some of our most disadvantaged communities, and we’re excited to share some wonderful news with you!

After a lot of hard work behind the scenes, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve now purchased a property in South Bank, as part of our Grounded Housing project.

This is just one of many homes we plan to provide through Grounded Housing for those experiencing homelessness.

Our first home is a beautiful three-bedroom house on the edge of South Bank. It has two reception rooms, ensuring that each resident has their own space, as well as generously sized bedrooms. It’s within walking distance of the Open Well and close to shops, and supermarkets, a health village, and many other amenities.

A Grounded Housing home is much more than just a roof over someone’s head. It will serve as an anchor, offering a full package of support to those who have been homeless. This includes mentoring and friendship, as well as more practical help, such as budgeting, saving, finding work, paying bills, and ongoing support from the Open Well, which is deeply embedded in the South Bank community.

This means we’re not only providing shelter, but also vital, ongoing support.

And we’re not doing this alone. We have a fantastic partner in Hope into Action, who share our vision of transforming lives.

As we move forward, we know Grounded Housing will have a lasting impact on Teesside and we can’t wait to welcome our first residents to their new home very soon!
