This Sunday we will be Celebrating 15 years of our partnership with CAP…but what is it?
Christians Against Poverty is a national charity that specialises in debt counselling for anybody who is in financial difficulty. The service is free and is available to anybody – no matter what their position or religious views. Their aim is simply to help, support and show that there is always hope.
At TVC Church, we obviously think this is a great idea and so for the past 15 years, we have partnered with CAP to provide resources for CAP to work across Teesside. We employ the wonderful Julie Parker, who is the Tees Valley CAP Centre Manager and provide office space for her at The Oakwood Centre. We also have a good number of TVC Church family members who volunteer with CAP, to befriend those who are dealing with their debt – to help them both practically and spiritually (by supporting them emotionally, going with them to difficult appointments and of course praying for them and sharing the hope of Jesus). We have also run many CAP money courses over the years, which is simply great budgeting advice for anybody and everybody who wants to manage their money well.
Why not take a few mins today to visit the CAP website and learn about their work?
On Sunday we will be hearing stories from Julie, about the lives that have been changed by offering hope in this way and we will be giving thanks for all that God continues to do thorough this amazing work.
If you wish to get involved with the work of CAP as a volunteer then please do get in touch with Julie Parker. She would love to hear from you.
If you wish to give to the work of CAP, you can do so though our donate page, which has a special link this week so that you can give directly to the work of CAP in Teesside.
If you would like help in dealing with your dept, then please call CAP free on 08003280006 or email julieparker@capuk.org.
